Parents and guardians have been spending more time with their children during the Pandemic, and may be noticing their children are struggling.
There is a wide range of causes for this.
MetroEHS Pediatric Therapy can help children in a variety of ways and focuses on bringing out the SUPER in every child.
WHAT MAKES METROEHS PEDIATRIC THERAPY UNIQUE?
MetroEHS Pediatric Therapy is unique because we are a one-stop shop for parents whose child needs a variety of therapy such as:
-
- Speech therapy

- Physical therapy
- ABA therapy
- Feeding therapy
- Mental health therapy
MetroEHS treats a lot of children with developmental delays, various disabilities and children with Autism and we are the only pediatric therapy company in Michigan providing all of these services under one roof at each of our therapy centers.
WHAT IS THE PEDIATRIC THERAPY EXPERIENCE LIKE FOR THE KIDS AT METROEHS?
It is truly a playful experience for the kiddos! It is playful because we treat children from the ages of 18 months to 7/8/9 years of age. All of our centers have fun colors, we have lots of toys and we have lots of therapists who are caring empathic people whom love working and playing with kiddos while revealing the SUPER hero in every child!
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE SIGNS THAT COULD MEAN A CHILD MAY BENEFIT FROM PEDIATRIC THERAPY?
The signs that a child may need pediatric therapy may include:
- Not talking or not speaking with age appropriate speech
- Not able to communicate their wants or needs
- Not understanding when people speak to them
- Their child gets frustrated because they can’t say what they want to say
- Their child doesn’t like to be hugged; or may refuse hugs; or they may go in the other direction and be overly aggressive with hugging their peers or a parent.
- The parent may see their child withdrawn — from friends; not able to socially play with their peers. Not making eye contact; Not initiating play; only wanting to play by themselves
- A child Walking on toes or aka toe walking – when a child is not able to consistently get the heels of their feet on the ground while they walk.
- Trouble eating due to being a Picky Eater. This is when a child prefers limited food choices such as only wanting to eat chicken nuggets or just cheese it crackers
- Refusing to eat
- Spitting food out due to not liking the texture of food in mouth
- A recent statistic reports that ~1/27 kids have some sort of feeding disturbance, and this is obvious to us because this is one of the most frequent calls we receive at our therapy centers.
